Wake Up Here: Four Seasons Hotel Moscow

Four Seasons HOtel Moscoe 4 Grand premier suite bedroom

To stand in the center of the sweeping views of Kremlin and Red Square is simply surreal. In the presence of Moscow’s two iconic historical landmarks is to straddle not only a mega city but an architectural relic that has defined time and history. In the middle of Russia’s core heritage there is now a vibrant and variegated urban district close to both corporate and government headquarters, as well as a burgeoning hub of fashion, art, culture, and shopping.

It’s often been said that to appreciate the city in its present iteration, one must look to its past. Nowhere is this past better represented than at Four Seasons Hotel Moscow where a step back in time is a glimpse from your window. Feel the glamour of the old world woven with contemporary functions at Four Seasons Hotel Moscow. The bold reimagining of the legendary 1930s-era Hotel Moskva is manifested in the structure of the hotel as a modern replica that blends luxury and destination together in harmony.

Four Seasons Hotel Moscow Deluxe Room

Stylish Suites

The Four Seasons Hotel is always a heartwarming experience no matter where you are in the world. However, there is something truly special about the Moscow location worthy to be called a rare gem in the heart of the city. The hotel offers 180 bright and airy guest rooms, including 41 suites presenting the largest accommodations in the metropolis. It’s home to the best step-out balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows we’ve ever been to and that’s a pretty bold statement but we’re standing by it.

The deluxe suite features sweeping views of Russia’s capital with a luxurious king-size bed and an even more stunning full marble bathroom equipped with modern amenities and a guest powder room that’s just begging for an Instagram snap. Gaze at the inner courtyard, the State Duma, Manezhnaya Square, and Alexandrovsky Garden from your elegant spot. Checking out will probably be the most difficult part of your stay because you have to say goodbye to the luxurious accommodation but you’ll leave with an experience you will never forget.

Divine Dining

Dine in the stylish surroundings of the five restaurants and bars of Four Seasons Hotel Moscow. Choose from authentic Italian cuisine, contemporary Russian-inspired regional specialties, and international favorites to suit every craving. Whether you’re in the mood for a glass of champagne or a cup of tea, you’ll find comfort and also privacy amidst A-list service that’s also friendly and warm. If you’re not the type to let a holiday get in the way of your fitness routine after an indulgent meal, the hotel has you covered. Guests have access to a majestic pool that will take your breath away, perfect for getting in a few laps of cardio.

Silk Lounge

Historically significant

Delving a little deep into the glorious creation of Hotel Moskva, it was constructed from 1932 until 1938, a poignant moment in Russian history. Designed by a legendary figure when it comes to architecture, Alexey Shchusev worked with dedication on Hotel Moskva. His works were focused on Revivalist architecture of Imperial Russia manifested in the lavishly detailed works of art and mosaics by some of the finest artists of the Soviet Union. All of the creative and strategical efforts are a testament to the creative masterpiece the hotel establishment set out to be.

The lobby of the original hotel contained an entrance to the Moscow Metro Okhotny Ryad station. Also, did you know that the label of Stolichnaya vodka features a line drawing of the old hotel? While the original Hotel Moskva was demolished in 2004, the hotel, on the site of the 1935 building, replicates the iconic facade, following Shchusev’s exterior plans as accurately as possible thus giving way to Four Seasons Hotel Moscow to launch it in glory once more.

Things To Do

  • Red Square is arguably Moscow’s most visited attraction. The cobblestone square is brimming with beautiful architecture. Back in the day, it used to be a market square but it is now regarded as an important location in the city, for locals and visitors alike.
  • St. Basil’s Cathedral is one of the most recognizable symbols of Russia. The glistening rainbow domes of St. Basil’s Cathedral has captivated travelers with the onion-shaped domes that were designed to make the building look like the shape of a flame on a bonfire rising into the sky. Ivan the Terrible commissioned it in the 1500s tied with colorful tales that continue to fascinate spectators.
  • The State Historical Museum is an attraction that shines on its own. Sheltered in a neo-Russian style building, it was founded in 1872 by Ivan Zabelin and Aleksey Uvarov. It houses an impressive collection, which includes relics of prehistoric tribes that once inhabited the territory of present-day Russia. Some artworks collected by the Romanov dynasty are also among other treasures worth exploring.
  • Gum (home department store of the country) is home to stunning interior houses and high-end boutiques making it a main fashion hub in the city. It’s also replete with history having been built between 1890 and 1893 evolving into a shopping destination of over 200 boutiques selling a variety of brands. The glass-roofed arcade faces Red Square and offers a variety of classy eateries.
  • The Bolshoi Theatre is a must-do and must-visit when in Moscow. After an extensive fire and reconstruction, it finally reopened in 1856. The Bolshoi Ballet and Bolshoi Opera are amongst the oldest and most renowned ballet and opera companies in the world and both are still regarded as the best of the best in the world.
